Education
We have a strong belief that education plays a crucial role in defining the future of the mankind.
The major reason behind the plight of the under privileged is illiteracy.
After a careful needs assessment that evaluates the community needs and plans for sustainability, we have undertaken the challenging responsibility to educate the children living in slums and rural areas.
We run various Pre School Centers for younger children, and Remedial Education Centers and Coaching Centers to help school dropouts and students, who need tuitions and guidance with their studies.
We aim to get children admitted to school for their formal education. Till now we have got nearly 1,200 admitted to regular schools.
Vocational Training
Sashakt Foundation aims to train youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and provide them with employable skills, coupled with access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
We provide short term courses, often 3-6 months duration, in sewing, embroidery and basic computer operating skills to girls from rural areas and urban slums, enabling them to find employable skills in the vicinity of their homes.
We also train both girls and boys, who have dropped out of schools after matriculation or senior secondary, in English-speaking, confidence-building, motivation, communication and presentation skills. These skills are extremely helpful in securing placements in cinema halls, malls and local stores.
Nature Conservation
To instill love towards Mother Nature, Sashakt Foundation works with youngsters and undertakes Tree Plantation Drives, particularly in schools. We make students take a pledge to plant at least one tree on their birthday.
Every year on Environment Day, we ask students to participate in model making activities, where they portray their ideas to save the earth from further destruction.
Our upcoming project involves converting garbage into compost. We have a vision to make at least 10 villages garbage free this year.
